CRACKING
--------
I think everyone of you has at least
1 cracked game at home altough he
knows about FAST or SAPE or similar
organizations. Now I don't want to
talk about people copying some illegal
wares, but the crackers and most
importantly those mega-lamers who sell
it for big money.
First I must say that I agree with
these organizations's main aim, to
reduce the amount of cracked wares and
stop cracking in general. But I don't
agree with their way to this. In most
papermags /no scene mags/ there are
their disgusting advertisements like
two total idiot boys talking:
- Hey look at these cool new games!
- Yeah, check them out!
They put the disks into the Amiga
- Wait, these are cracked games, we
are not allowed to have these!
And so they find out that the best
thing to do is to call FAST, report it
to them and give some addresses...
AND THEY GOT 1000! POUNDS FOR THIS!
How disgusting!! It's a very basic
movement of shy and lame guys. They
can't solve a problem they had with
someone so they denounce the guy...
Fuck, fuck, fuck those kids! There
are more civilizated ways to solve the
problem of pirates. Copying is not
only a computer related thing, 1000
times bigger problem in cassette
business. In a time, anti-pirate
organizations found a whole lot better
way: if someone had sent them a
pirated cassette, they gave the
original instead. I don't know what's
up with this nowadays, but I guess
it's not used. You can easily find
out why...
Back to FAST. I heard rumours that
they don't even pay the 1000 credits
to the reporting bastard. I don't
feel sorry for him, but this is
another nasty move... Altough it's
just a rumour I surely believe it!
But as I said, I agree with the main
aim. Imagine, you and your friends
have spent months or years making a
game. When it's ready, you hate your
ASM-One like hell, trash your disk
into 2000 pieces, cry all night
because you've had so much time layed
into the game. Ofcourse you want to
earn much money from it. The game is
released, you're up all night
wondering how much copies will be
selled. 3 weeks later everyone plays
with the game, everyone loves the
game, noone purchased the game...
Because megacracker of ultracrackers
deprotected it in ca.3 hours and gave
it to all his friends and enemies.
When you hear that only a ridiculous
amount had been selled, you simply
hang yourself up... I know it's a
nonsense story, but it's close to
reality. And when megacracker is
having fun with your protection, he
doesn't remember this. BUT HE SHOULD!
I know there is a big competition in
cracking a game or utility, but
remember: you make one go crazy by
cracking his stuff!
You may say that all games have
horrible high prices. Remember this
golden sentence: a game worth playing
is worth buying.@¹ And you must have
that much money if you really like a
game. If you don't, you should look
for a job instead!
Now let's see a worse type of
illegal dudes: the one who sells it!
I can only write the hungarian
situation, where piracy is free, but
it must be similar in other countries.
It goes like this: topimporter goes
to Germany to buy the latest 30 disks
of the week, each disk for 1 DM. He
also buys some shit NoNames in
Germany. He smuggles the stuff to
Hungary. Now one type sells his stuff
at the free market, the other at home.
Lamers buy a disk with stuff for ca.
150 Forints (3 DM). The guy in the
free market sells about 250 disks on a
weekend. That's 250 DM of PURE
PROFIT! The guy copies 7 days a week,
so he can sell about 500 disks a week
or more. I won't count his profit...
So much money from other people's
work! I know lots of these guys, so I
know what I'm talking about. And as a
cherry on the top, they are soohoho
lamers! They can't even put an intro
before a game (simple DOS). There is
one guy I know who could... He knew a
bit ripping so guess what he did?
Yeah, you're right: He ripped a
Scoopex bootintro, changed the text
and claimed that he did the intro!
To all megacrackers and topimporters
who read this: think about it. Does
it really worth to sell or crack and
be hated by most persons in the Amiga
biz?
